ALL CLASSES:
Digital Photography III:
- Design Unit- Students will recognize, describe, and analyze how technical, organizational and artistic elements and principles contribute to the ideas, quality, and effectiveness communicated by the art form by completing a design analysis of a given piece of artwork. Oct 13-16
- Contour Line Drawing- Using black ink and white paper students will create a realistic contour rendering of a variety of still life object, enabling them to concentrate on drawing exactly what they see. Oct. 1-2
- Negative Space Drawing- While observing a still life object, students will demonstrate their ability to discern positive and negative space by completing a hard edged drawing showing the negative space in black and the positive in white. Oct. 6-10
- Gesture Drawing- Given a variety of visual references, students will demonstrate the ability to quickly and accurately draw objects by completing a series of timed rendering exercises. Oct. 21
- Black Charcoal Shading- While observing a still life, students will demonstrate the ability to create a dimensional rendering by completing a realistic black charcoal shaded drawing. Oct. 27-Nov. 5
- Cropped Colored Pencil Still Life- While observing a cropped photograph, students will render a realistic drawing matching colors and values, teaching them to manipulate the medium and visually identify colors and their creation. Oct. 1- Oct. 30
- Themed: Self Portrait- All Studio students will create a portfolio of work centered around a creative, predetermined and pre-planned main theme that is thought provoking while not being too narrow or cliché. Students will explore and demonstrate their theme though a self portrait. Oct. 1- Oct. 30
- Coil Vase- Students will construct an 12" convex and/or concave coil vase of a predetermined shape with a stamped design, demonstrating the ability to manipulate clay in a desired shape and decorative design. Sept. 29 -Nov. 6
- High Relief Sculptural Pot: Students will construct a 12" pot with an added sculpted high relief aspect, demonstrating the ability to pre-plan and build a creative, original and challenging piece of pottery. Sept. 29 - Nov. 6
- Composition: While completing a series of composition based photo projects students will demonstrate the ability to produce a variety of accurate, compositionally correct and visually pleasing photographs. Oct. 1-30
- Computer Manipulation- Students will the ability to enhance their photography by create a wide variety of manipulations and enhancements using PhotoShop. Oct. 1-30
- Creative Lighting Techniques- Students will create a variety of dramatic and realistic lit photographs using original photography and photo editing tools.
Digital Photography III:
- Special Effects Photography- Students will demonstrate the ability to create creative special effects photographs by constructing predetermined effects using original photography and photo editing tools. Oct.1 - 30
- Themed Fine Art Photography Production- Students will demonstrate the ability to produce visually appealing fine art photography by produce a variety of enhanced themed photographs using advanced photo editing tools. Oct.1 - 30
