Tardiness
Students are allowed ONE tardy warning per Quarter. Each tardy thereafter will be referred to the office for disciplinary action. Students are to be in the room before the tardy bell quits ringing. Arrival any time after that will be considered a tardy.Being later than 20 minutes will be counted as an absence.
"Art Talks"
Every Friday students will read and discuss an art current event article for 20 to 30 minutes at the beginning of class. Improving student reading ability is one of our school improvement goals. "Art Talks" is one way that will help to achieve that goal.
Art History/Research
Throughout the school year, students will study a variety of artists and art eras, ranging from the anatomical studies of the Renaissance to Contemporary and Modern Art movements. Students may videos, take notes on the artist / art era and do a variety of written assignments. It is important that the student takes this part of their art education seriously, as it is part of their grade, state assessment, and essential to their artistic scope of knowledge. Research papers will be part of the student's State Fine Art Assessment andwill not be graded if handed in late .
Art fees
A $25.00 art fee is due at registration from all students ( except art I, which is a $10.00 fee ) to help with the cost of art materials used. This amount in no way covers the entire expense, but does help defray it.
