- Right Side of the Brain Review- Using a variety of drawing exercises students will learn how to access the creative side of their brain, enabling them to see things around them more clearly and realistically. Sept. 2-5
Art I:
- Contour Line Drawing- Using black ink and white paper students will create a realistic contour rendering of a variety of still life object, enabling them to concentrate on drawing exactly what they see. Sept 10 - Oct. 6
- Cropped Colored Pencil Still Life- While observing a cropped photograph, students will render a realistic drawing matching colors and values, teaching them to manipulate the medium and visually identify colors and their creation. Sept.10 - Oct. 30
- Themed: Self Portrait- All Studio students will create a portfolio of work centered around a creative, predetermined and pre-planned main theme that is thought provoking while not being too narrow or cliché. Students will explore and demonstrate their theme though a self portrait. Sept. 10- Oct. 30
- Coil Bowl- Students will construct an 8" convex and/or concave coil bowl of a predetermined shape, demonstrating the ability to manipulate clay in a desired shape or direction. Sept.10- Sept. 26
- Coil Vase- Students will construct an 12" convex and/or concave coil vase of a predetermined shape with a stamped design, demonstrating the ability to manipulate clay in a desired shape and decorative design. Sept. 29 -Nov. 6
- Decorative Vase- Students will construct a functional piece of pottery while incorporating a decorative motif of their choice, demonstrating the ability to build a functional and decorative pot. Sept. 10 -Sept. 26
- High Relief Sculptural Pot: Students will construct a 12" pot with an added sculpted high relief aspect, demonstrating the ability to pre-plan and build a creative, original and challenging piece of pottery. Sept. 29 - Nov. 6
- Foundation Photography- Students will learn and display fundamental photography skills while taking photos.
- Composition: While completing a series of composition based photo projects students will demonstrate the ability to produce a variety of accurate, computationally correct and visually pleasing photographs. Sept. 10- 24
- Computer Manipulation- Students will learn and create a wide variety of photography manipulations and enhancements using PhotoShop. Sept. 29-30
- Creative Lighting Techniques- Students will create a variety of dramatic and realistic lit photographs using original photography and photo editing tools.
Digital Photography III:
- Special Effects Photography- Students will create creative special effects photographs using original photography and photo editing tools. Sept. 10 - 30
- Themed Fine Art Photography Production- Students will produce a variety of themed fine art photographs demonstrating the ability to enhance them using advanced photo editing tools. Sept. 10 - 30
